In a fiery address during the Lower Eastern Jukwaa La Usalama forum held today in Machakos County, Governor Wavinya Ndeti made a bold declaration: land injustice will no longer be tolerated under her watch. Speaking alongside Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen and PS Raymond Omollo, Wavinya asserted that every legitimate landowner with a valid title deed must be protected. “If you have a genuine land title, no one should set foot on your property,” she thundered. Her message was consistent, recalling her past stance as Kathiani MP and now as Machakos Governor a tireless defender of property rights.

Wavinya condemned the persistent menace of forced evictions, describing it as a blight on justice that must be eradicated. She expressed outrage over cases where individuals without any legitimate documentation manipulate the courts to displace rightful owners. “It is a shame and a violation of human dignity when someone without papers evicts families holding valid titles,” she decried, calling on leaders across the region to unite and end these injustices. Her words resonated deeply with residents, many of whom have lived under the shadow of land insecurity for decades.

On the long-contentious Portland land issue, Governor Wavinya delivered hopeful news. She revealed that, through collaboration with the national government, KCB Bank has agreed to sell disputed land directly to the residents living there, giving them a clear path to ownership. Similarly, an agreement with East African Portland Cement will enable Green Park residents to formalize their homeownership. Wavinya’s commitment to resolving historical land injustices drew thunderous applause, a signal that her efforts are striking the right chords with the people.
However, the Governor did not spare those who, despite owning vast lands, have evaded paying land rates. *”Enough is enough,” she warned, announcing that she will soon issue demands for all outstanding land rates to be settled. “You must honor your obligations to Machakos County,” she insisted, her tone leaving no room for doubt. With this electrifying speech, Governor Wavinya Ndeti reaffirmed her place as a relentless defender of justice, property rights, and the rightful aspirations of her people.
