Machakos Deputy Governor Francis Mwangangi has thrown down the gauntlet to Wiper-elected leaders who have fraternized with State House, accusing them of betraying the soul of the Ukambani political movement. In an uncompromising speech delivered at Tseikuru during a Wiper leaders’ convention, Mwangangi denounced their recent political pilgrimage to Nairobi as an affront to Kalonzo Musyoka and the community’s aspirations. “Those who seek personal gain at the expense of unity must be voted out,” he stated. “They no longer represent our struggle.”

The gathering, marked by a surge of political energy and symbolism, showcased Kalonzo Musyoka not as a regional figure, but as a presidential frontrunner. Mwangangi seized the moment to rally the Kamba community, declaring their support for Kalonzo non-negotiable. “We are not asking for favors. We are asserting our rightful place in this country’s leadership,” he said. “And Kalonzo is the man to take us there.”

\#OneNationOnePeople wasn’t just a hashtag—it was the banner under which the Wiper movement signaled its intent to realign, reorganize, and reclaim its influence ahead of the 2027 contest. Mwangangi’s remarks served as a strategic signal to both friend and foe: align with the cause or be politically irrelevant. “The road to State House runs through unity, and we must not allow infiltration to dilute our resolve,” he warned.

Reasserting Kalonzo’s dominance in the region, Mwangangi reminded leaders that the former Vice President remains the singular political authority in Ukambani. “We cannot afford division when history is knocking,” he said. “Let us silence the noise, reject betrayal, and carry Kalonzo to State House—not just for us, but for the nation.”
