Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti today made a powerful stop at Mananja Market in Ndithini Ward, Masinga Sub-county, where she received a rousing welcome from residents after attending a church service at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. In a spirited address that blended gratitude, conviction, and visionary plans, the Governor reaffirmed her unwavering commitment to transforming Machakos through practical, people-centered development. From road connectivity to youth empowerment, Governor Wavinya’s speech laid bare a bold roadmap for Machakos’ future.

Highlighting her administration’s ambitious infrastructure push, the Governor announced the procurement of 10 new graders to revolutionize road connectivity across the county. “No more excuses. Every ward now has access to a fuel-loaded visa card to ensure all graders and machines run efficiently and transparently,” she declared, emphasizing that this move will end fuel theft and improve accountability. With this strategy, all 40 wards in Machakos are now poised for consistent and permanent road rehabilitation.
Beyond roads, the Governor touched on the broader development agenda anchored on equitable devolution. She pledged improved access to clean water, expansion of modern health facilities, and the swift issuance of title deeds to address long-standing land disputes. “With a title deed, our people can unlock financial opportunities and put an end to land wrangles,” she said, urging residents to support efforts aimed at restoring order and ownership across the county.

In a spirited rebuke to political detractors, Wavinya made it clear she would not be derailed by gender-based attacks or propaganda. “I was elected by both men and women.

I owe no excuses I must deliver,” she said defiantly. She lauded the majority of MCAs for supporting her mission, singling out only a few who have aligned with distractors. She also unveiled Phase Two of the Machakos Youth Service recruitment, which will enroll 1,500 young people into technical training programs, fully funded by the county. With 1,000 youths already trained and awaiting graduation, the Governor emphasized her belief in empowering the next generation through skills and tools not empty promises.
