Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has moved firmly against corruption in county revenue collection, exposing a network of public officers colluding with citizens to siphon public funds.

In a strongly worded briefing today, the governor revealed that fraudulent activities have continued to plague county revenue systems despite heavy investments in digitalization. She cited cases of under-reporting of collections, diversion of funds, and issuance of fake permits and receipts by rogue officials working with members of the public.
