Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has unveiled the 2024/2025 annual departmental performance report, spotlighting the county’s top-performing departments. Speaking at her office, Governor Wavinya applauded the Department of Agriculture, Food Security, Cooperatives, and Livestock Development for emerging as the best-performing unit, followed closely by the Department of Finance, Revenue, Economic Planning, and ICT, and the Department of Lands, Urban Planning, and Energy.

The evaluation exercise was supervised by the Performance Management Advisory Committee, which comprises prominent experts including former Treasury PS Mutua Kilaka (Chair), infrastructure advisor and former Government Chief Architect Sylvester Muli, University of Nairobi professor Ndeti Ndati, and ICT consultant Dr. Kaloki. The team provided independent oversight to ensure transparency and credibility in the rankings.
To honor excellence in service delivery, Governor Wavinya presented trophies and certificates to the winning departments. She commended their dedication, urging them to maintain the momentum while setting the benchmark for the rest. At the same time, she issued a stern reminder to underperforming departments that mediocrity will not be tolerated, stressing that consistent improvement is the only acceptable standard.

The report was anchored on performance contracts signed last year by each County Executive Committee Member (CECM) and their chief officers. The governor was accompanied by her deputy, H.E. Francis Mwangangi, as well as County Executive Committee members and chief officers, underlining her administration’s commitment to accountability, results-based management, and the pursuit of excellence in public service.
