Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti is once again proving that her leadership is built on action, not empty promises. On Tuesday, November 4, 2025, she will preside over the graduation of 1,000 youths from all 40 wards under the Machakos Youth Service (MYS) program at her White House offices. The initiative, a cornerstone of her empowerment agenda, has trained young people in masonry, welding, wiring, plumbing, dressmaking, and beauty therapy arming them with practical, income-generating skills to secure their futures and drive the county’s economic transformation.

In a bold show of commitment to her people, Governor Wavinya will hand out startup tools to every graduate, ensuring that no trained youth is left stranded without the means to start their own business. This decisive move underscores her belief that true empowerment means ownership, not dependency. The program is already being hailed as a game-changer in tackling unemployment, revitalizing local industries, and setting Machakos on the path to inclusive prosperity.

Riding on the success of this first intake, Wavinya will also unveil the second phase of the MYS program, which will see 1,500 more youths gain competitive market skills. True to her rallying call “Chakula Mezani, Pesa Mfukoni,” the governor continues to demonstrate that her administration is about tangible impact creating jobs, restoring dignity, and building a self-reliant Machakos. Wavinya Ndeti is not just talking about change; she is delivering it, tool by tool, youth by youth.
