The political heat in Kitui has reached boiling point after the outspoken Makali unleashed a scathing attack on Kitui East MP Nimrod Mbai, daring him and his “goons” to step foot in Kitui if they are “man enough.”
Makali was reacting to Mbai’s brazen threat that he would storm the Kitui County Assembly and “beat up” MCAs if they dared impeach Speaker Kennedy Kinengo.
Speaking during a charged morning talk show on Kwitu FM, a visibly fired-up Makali dismissed Mbai’s threats as empty bravado, declaring that he “owns the streets” of Kitui Town and would not allow any form of stupidity to thrive there. “ Makali.
“Let him try it if he’s man enough. I own the streets of Kitui. Nobody brings foolishness here and walks away,” thundered” Makali.
He laughed off Mbai’s goons, mocking them as “unenlightened villagers who have never set foot in urban centres.”
“Most of those goons he brags about would get lost in Kitui Town. They wouldn’t even trace their way back to the bus station, let alone know where the County Assembly is,” Makali sneered, leaving the studio in stitches.
The outspoken commentator didn’t stop there he likened Mbai and his allies to “emaciated dogs who can only bark but have no bite.”
“These are empty threats from hungry men seeking attention. Kitui is not a playground for hooligans,” Makali charged.
He accused Mbai of abandoning his legislative duties and resorting to drama instead of service delivery
“ I have dealt with louder men and women like Ngilu before and they all went silent ” he said defiantly.
However, according to political pundits and online commentators, this escalating war might end up denting Makali’s gubernatorial ambitions. Many believe Makali needs Mbai politically more than Mbai would ever need him, and that such open hostilities could fracture the delicate political alliances forming ahead of 2027.
