According to a police report, the officers were patrolling near Cooperative Bank in Mlolongo when they encountered a gang of four men attacking a woman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"284\" height=\"177\" src=\"https:\/\/kituitimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/download-19.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1218\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In an attempt to apprehend the suspects, three of the gang members tried to flee in a getaway car but were blocked by the police, leading to a violent confrontation. During the struggle, three officers sustained injuries. \u201cPolice Constable Okari suffered a swollen right eye, a cut on the side of the head, and a dislocated right hand. Police Constable Kyalo suffered a swollen right leg near the knee, and Police Constable Ndung\u2019u has chest pains,\u201d the report detailed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The investigation revealed that the suspects had altered the original plates of the getaway car from KDH 630Y to KDA 730F using stickers.
