Hadi unaenda msituni! Kama unataka kukuwa Governor wa Nairobi usimame 2027.” (You can’t bully people for two years and then cry after one week. You even go into hiding! The Gachagua camp has accused some politicians within the Ruto camp of fueling divisions within the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) to undermine Gachagua’s popularity.

Today, the Nation newspaper reported an insider story alleging that Gachagua is contemplating forming a new political party, tentatively named The New Democrat (TND). This move signals significant political tension within the ruling party, as Gachagua appears to be preparing for a potential shift away from UDA.

The Deputy President, known for his assertive political style, has often been at the center of controversy. His tenure has been marked by both his staunch support base and vocal critics who accuse him of heavy-handed tactics. The recent backlash, which Sakaja referenced, appears to have struck a nerve, prompting Gachagua to publicly decry the treatment he has received from political opponents.

In response, Deputy President Gachagua has yet to publicly address Sakaja’s challenge. However, insiders suggest that his camp is preparing for a strategic counter, aiming to consolidate support and mitigate the growing criticism.

This exchange reflects a broader theme within Kenyan politics where local and national leaders frequently clash over policy and influence. As Nairobi continues to grapple with issues of governance, infrastructure, and public service delivery, the leadership struggle could significantly impact the city’s future direction.

The internal strife within the ruling party and the potential formation of a new political entity by Gachagua are likely to have far-reaching consequences for the political stability and unity of the current administration. The coming months will be crucial in determining how these political confrontations unfold and what they mean for the citizens of Nairobi and the country at large.

By Francis Kioko Date 29 May 2024 A war of words erupted today in Nairobi as Governor Johnson

[18,21

post-1296","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-newsbeat","category-politics
https://kambalandtimes.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/1717003134452.jpg",687,382,false
https://kambalandtimes.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/1717003134452-150x150.jpg",150,150,true
https://kambalandtimes.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/1717003134452-300x167.jpg",300,167,true
https://kambalandtimes.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/1717003134452.jpg",640,356,false
https://kambalandtimes.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/1717003134452.jpg",640,356,false],"1536x1536":["https://kambalandtimes.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/1717003134452.jpg",687,382,false],"2048x2048":["https://kambalandtimes.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/1717003134452.jpg",687,382,false
https://kambalandtimes.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/1717003134452.jpg",687,382,false
https://kambalandtimes.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/1717003134452.jpg",687,382,false
https://kambalandtimes.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/1717003134452-590x382.jpg",590,382,true
Newsbeat Politics
["GET
