Kitui County is set to host the highly anticipated Kitui Agricultural Show and Trade Fair 2024 at Ithookwe Showground from July 25 to July 27.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Exhibitors from across Kenya have already set up their tents on the showground, indicating the high level of planning and excitement surrounding the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Kitui County government has made significant preparations, enhancing the Ithookwe Showground with sophisticated county machinery. Roads leading to and within the showground have been tarmacked and graded, and local youth have been employed to ensure the grounds are well-maintained, clearing bushes and long grass. These efforts have transformed the showground into a bustling hive of activity, ensuring ample space for exhibitors to display their products and innovations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The theme for this year’s event is “Promoting Climate Smart Agriculture for Food and Nutrition Security and Trade Initiatives for Sustainable Economic Growth.” Attendees expect to gain valuable skills and knowledge in line with this theme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gladys Kivooto, Chief Officer for Agriculture and Livestock, assured that the 2024 event will be historic, featuring top-tier exposure from various respected institutions, organizations, and individuals excelling in agriculture, farming, poultry keeping, cattle rearing, beekeeping, entrepreneurship, banking, education, hospitality, and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kivooto also guaranteed adequate security, ample parking, a wide range of exhibitions, and entertainment for both adults and children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This will be the second Kitui Agricultural Show and Trade Fair since Governor Malombe reinstated the event last year. Previously, Kitui residents had to travel to other counties to attend such events, but now they can enjoy this important fair locally. Governor Malombe’s administration has been transformative, initiating numerous development projects across the county since he took office in 2022. Malombe aims to leave a lasting legacy of leadership and progress, utilizing available resources to uplift the people of Kitui.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
