The Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party has issued a stern rebuke against the Kenya Kwanza-led government, highlighting a series of actions it believes undermine the country’s democratic framework.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The coalition accused President Ruto of nominating top leaders from the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), a key constituent of Azimio, to his Cabinet. This move is seen as an attempt to erode multiparty democracy and exert control over the Parliamentary system. Azimio claims this is part of a broader strategy to silence opposition voices both within and outside Parliament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Azimio condemned what it calls the “cannibalisation” of political parties like Jubilee and ODM, arguing that such actions violate the Kenyan Constitution and the National Dialogue Committee (NADCO) Report’s principles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The coalition described Ruto as an existential threat to Kenya’s democracy, emphasizing the need for resistance against his policies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Azimio stressed that Kenyans are seeking real reforms, competent leadership, and transparency in public administration. They criticized Ruto’s approach as merely cosmetic and ineffective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Azimio reiterated its refusal to support or participate in the proposed Broad-Based Government of National Unity, labeling it a betrayal of the Kenyan people, particularly the younger generations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The coalition condemned the killing of 60 young Kenyans and the injury of hundreds more during peaceful protests. These actions were allegedly carried out under the command of Nairobi Police boss Adamson Bungei. Azimio demanded the arrest and prosecution of the officers responsible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The coalition stated that anyone joining Ruto’s regime is effectively endorsing violence and oppression against innocent Kenyans. It emphasized that those accepting Cabinet nominations do so in their personal capacity, not as representatives of Azimio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Azimio reaffirmed its commitment to fighting against injustice and police brutality, urging the prosecution of officers involved in shooting protesters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Addressing the youth, Azimio encouraged perseverance and unity against bad governance, assuring them that there is hope for a better future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The coalition expressed gratitude to its leader, Rt. Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga, acknowledging his successful leadership and wishing him luck in his bid for African Union Commission (AUC) leadership. During this period, H.E. Dr. Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka will guide the coalition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Azimio reassured Kenyans of its unwavering advocacy for their rights, affirming that their stance remains firmly with the people of Kenya against the Kenya Kwanza regime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
