The much-anticipated National Delegates Conference, organized by Kyalo Muli, leader of the National Liberal Party, was abruptly cancelled after only a handful of attendees showed up at the venue. The conference, set to take place at Muli’s alcohol-selling grounds known locally as “The Woods,” turned into an alcohol celebration event instead, highlighting the lack of support for Muli’s political ambitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adding to the chaos, the event was purportedly halted by a court order issued under unclear circumstances, further complicating the situation and casting a shadow over the planned gathering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The National Liberal Party, which currently has no elected representatives in Kenya, faced a significant setback as the poor turnout underscored the local populace’s disinterest in Muli’s promises. Attendees were reportedly dissuaded from participating, knowing that the event offered little beyond food and alcohol, with no substantial facilitation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In an attempt to mask the embarrassment, Muli, who is positioning himself as a candidate for Kitui Central MP in the 2027 general elections, converted the failed conference into a celebration for his inclusion on the IEBC selection panel. Despite his claims, his role on the panel is minor, likened to that of a compound gardener or sweeper, further diminishing his political credibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
