Kitui County is poised to become the next frontier of Kenya\u2019s hospitality revolution as Kenya Utalii College eyes a major expansion into the region. During a high-level visit to Governor Dr. Julius Malombe, Principal Mark Rachuonyo toured a 26-acre site in Tiva, Kyangwithia West Ward the future home of a campus that promises to redefine skills training and career prospects for thousands of youth across Ukambani.<\/p>\n

The decision marks a significant step toward regional equity in education and taps into the surging demand for trained professionals in Kenya\u2019s tourism and hospitality sectors. Governor Malombe emphasized the strategic alignment of the campus with national development goals, particularly in youth empowerment, job creation, and the decentralization of opportunities. \u201cThis is about planting seeds of transformation where education meets enterprise,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n

Coinciding with the ambitious rollout of the Kitui Tourism Circuit, set to launch on 19th September 2025, the Utalii campus becomes part of a broader narrative: reimagining Kitui as a tourism and training hub. Deputy Governor Augustine Kanani called the circuit a curated celebration of Kitui\u2019s rugged beauty, heritage sites, and cultural richness. \u201cWe are opening up a whole new chapter for Kitui economically, academically, and experientially,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n
