Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has moved firmly against corruption in county revenue collection, exposing a network of public officers colluding with citizens to siphon public funds.<\/p>\n

In a strongly worded briefing today, the governor revealed that fraudulent activities have continued to plague county revenue systems despite heavy investments in digitalization. She cited cases of under-reporting of collections, diversion of funds, and issuance of fake permits and receipts by rogue officials working with members of the public.<\/p>\n

Governor Wavinya stated that her administration would not tolerate such economic crimes and announced that the cases had been handed over to the **DCI and EACC** for prosecution. To demonstrate zero tolerance, she suspended more than 30 officers with immediate effect, ordering them to hand over to their respective chief officers and cease all transactions on behalf of the county government.<\/p>\n
