Kitui County\u2019s healthcare system has received a major boost following the delivery of drugs and medical supplies worth Ksh 69.7 million from the Mission for Essential Drugs and Supplies (MEDS). The consignment, received by the Chief Officer for Drugs and Medical Supplies, Mr. Aggrey Kamba, on behalf of the CECM for Health and Sanitation, Ms. Ruth Koki, marks another significant stride by Governor Dr. Julius Malombe\u2019s administration in strengthening access to quality healthcare for all Kitui residents. The supplies include critical medicines for managing chronic conditions such as cancer, diabetes, and hypertension, alongside essential commodities for specialized hospital units like ICU, maternity, laboratory, and theatres.<\/p>\n

Mr. Kamba expressed gratitude to MEDS for their continued partnership and reaffirmed the county\u2019s commitment to ensuring equitable distribution of the supplies across all 326 health facilities. He emphasized that the delivery will play a crucial role in sustaining uninterrupted patient care, especially for those with chronic and critical illnesses. \u201cThis consignment enhances our capacity to serve our people better and reinforces our commitment to ensuring continuous availability of essential medicines in all our public facilities,\u201d he stated. He further highlighted that this new delivery complements an earlier Ksh 80 million supply received from the Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA) earlier in the year, demonstrating the county\u2019s proactive approach to maintaining a steady and reliable drug supply chain.<\/p>\n
