Depression & Curse: Of late, you have seen Mavoko MP Patrick Makau\u2019s health deteriorating, and he has been using black goggles to hide something. Kambaland Investigative Bureau has unearthed the truth behind all this: Patrick Makau is said to be suffering mentally from depression after he lost all the money he had saved to contest the Machakos gubernatorial election in 2027.<\/p>\n

Makau is said, because of his known appetite for quick money without sweating, to have been approached by one of his friends who advised him that he could get campaign money of over 2 billion without sweating if he just invested in cryptocurrency trading. Yes, cryptocurrency trading. Makau is said to have had 600 million he had already saved for his 2027 campaign, and he opted to raise 2 billion or 1.5 billion to have enough liquid cash to convincingly approach the Machakos electorate.<\/p>\n

Here is how it happened: after realizing that 2027 is near and he had not hit his target of 2 billion, he was introduced to cryptocurrency trading. Upon being assured that he would make money easily even easier than someone who earns while sleeping Makau is said to have, without reasoning, invested 500 million in cryptocurrency trading. But as the saying goes, \u201cput your money where your mouth is,\u201d and also, wise men say, \u201cbet what you can afford to lose.\u201d Makau, with hopes of generating billions, invested the 500 million. Unfortunately, he lost the entire amount.<\/p>\n

Depression, high blood pressure, sugar levels, and other health conditions then hit Makau hard. The 100 million that remained, he invested again, thinking it could recover at least the 500 million he had lost but he lost again. He then borrowed 200 million and tried his luck, but also lost it. That\u2019s when everything became dark for Patrick Makau. He became depressed, started taking alcohol, and quarreled with friends and family. That is why, recently, you have seen Makau losing weight terribly because of depression. Some people say it is because of a curse.<\/p>\n

When he resurfaced, with depression, high blood pressure, and high sugar levels, Makau then started fighting his party leader, Kalonzo Musyoka. This is despite the fact that Makau had already betrayed his party, Wiper, during Gachagua\u2019s impeachment and the Finance Bill, where the party had directed all Wiper MPs to vote NO\u2014but Makau voted YES. It is said he pocketed millions, and this is where his party leader, Kalonzo Musyoka, lost trust in him seeing him as someone who cannot be trusted and who has no loyalty.<\/p>\n

When Makau realized that his boss had lost trust in him and that he stood zero chances of getting the influential Wiper Party ticket to contest the Machakos gubernatorial race in 2027, he decided to try getting quick money so he could run as an independent candidate. That is why he turned to cryptocurrency, hoping to become a billionaire but the unforeseen happened: he lost everything. Many people from Ukambani think it is a curse of betrayal following him.<\/p>\n

In his recent appearances, Makau, looking drunk, depressed, and hopeless, has been attacking Governor Wavinya Ndeti recklessly, as if she is the one who advised him to invest his campaign money in cryptocurrency. His attacks on Governor Wavinya Ndeti have left many people in Machakos wondering whether Makau has another agenda beyond \u201cWavinya this, Wavinya that,\u201d with some even questioning whether he is mentally fit.<\/p>\n

On one occasion, Makau said he would make education free in all Machakos County public secondary schools. This statement made people question his understanding, as county governments are only responsible for ECDEs and vocational training centres, while primary, secondary, and tertiary education fall under the national government. His statements exposed him badly. He even said he would allocate 200 million to make secondary schools in Machakos free. This is seen as unrealistic, considering he is an MP of the small Mavoko constituency. People are questioning why he has not made education free in his own constituency using NG-CDF first before thinking about Machakos County, which has eight constituencies.<\/p>\n

It is said his doctors have advised him to take a break from politics and concentrate on his health, but he has ignored the advice. Instead, he has chosen to direct his frustration toward Kalonzo Musyoka and Governor Wavinya. These could be his last political moves.<\/p>\n

Makau may have brought these problems upon himself after defying his party leader and allegedly accepting bribes from State House to go against Kalonzo Musyoka. After being exposed as a Wiper mole working with UDA, he chose to avoid attending events organized by his party leader. While other Wiper MPs are busy accompanying Kalonzo across the country to popularize his 2027 presidential bid, Makau is nowhere to be seen. Instead, he appears on camera trying to lecture Kalonzo, often looking drunk and depressed.<\/p>\n

Now, Makau stands at a crossroads. His political career appears to be ending in turmoil. He has reportedly lost his money through crypto, his health is declining, and he has lost political ground. The reasonable step for him now would be to focus on his health and address his depression so he may recover.<\/p>\n

At the moment, many are distancing themselves from him due to his condition. Even the money he allegedly used to get from quarries in Mavoko has been cut off after Machakos County redirected revenues to official county accounts, leaving him under more pressure.<\/p>\n
