The focus: the thorny Njuguini settlement land issue in Athi River Township ward, Mavoko Constituency a dispute that has recently sparked anxiety among residents facing potential eviction. The Governor’s intervention comes at a critical juncture, offering a glimmer of hope for a region caught in uncertainty.
Emerging from the talks, two pivotal resolutions were reached that could reshape the trajectory of the impasse. First, all stakeholders will be actively engaged in a bid to forge an amicable and lasting solution to the land wrangle. Secondly, the controversial KMC eviction notice originally issued on 7th May 2025 and due to lapse today has been extended by a full month. This extension opens the door for what leaders are calling “structured consultations,” aimed at protecting livelihoods while safeguarding legal land claims.
