The Senate Health Committee, led by Senator Tabitha Mutinda, has lauded Governor Wavinya Ndeti’s administration for its outstanding commitment to uplifting health services for the people of Machakos.
During a comprehensive tour of Machakos Level 5 Hospital and several other health facilities across the county, the committee expressed deep satisfaction with the remarkable progress made under Governor Wavinya’s leadership. The senators noted that Machakos Level 5 Hospital stands out as one of the best-performing referral hospitals in the country and commended the county for ensuring quality and accessible healthcare for all.

Senator Mutinda and her team praised Machakos County’s investment in modern healthcare infrastructure, efficient service delivery, and the dedication of medical staff. They observed that the reforms and upgrades witnessed across various hospitals have significantly improved patient care and management — setting Machakos apart from many other counties.
“The strides made here are commendable. Governor Wavinya’s administration has demonstrated genuine commitment to ensuring that Machakos residents receive top-notch medical services,” the committee noted in its report.

The senators urged the county government to maintain this impressive momentum and continue strengthening health systems to guarantee affordable and reliable care for every resident.
The committee’s visit was part of a broader nationwide assessment covering counties such as Kitui and Makueni, but Machakos emerged as a model of progress — a shining example of how visionary leadership and accountability can transform the healthcare landscape.

Governor Wavinya Ndeti’s unwavering focus on modernizing hospitals, equipping facilities, and motivating healthcare workers continues to position Machakos as a beacon of hope in Kenya’s devolved health sector — a county truly healing its people through action, innovation, and compassion.
