In a brazen display of political sabotage, a faction of Machakos Members of Parliament have launched a coordinated campaign to frustrate the administration of Governor Wavinya Ndeti. Driven by envy and fear of her rising political star, these lawmakers are reportedly meeting behind closed doors to plot strategies aimed at undermining the governor’s leadership and disrupting her family’s peace. Their actions appear to stem from growing panic over Wavinya’s influence not just in Machakos, but across the Ukambani region, where she continues to earn the trust of the electorate.

The MPs, in an outrageous attempt to smear her administration, have alleged without evidence that Governor Wavinya is misusing public funds to support Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka. Such claims are not only baseless, but a clear attempt to discredit two of Ukambani’s most influential political figures. The real motivation here is not public accountability but selfish political survival—these MPs are desperate to neutralize a governor whose transparency and popularity threaten their grip on power.
In a further abuse of institutional trust, the same MPs are believed to have misled the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) into raiding the Machakos county offices on fabricated corruption claims. The much-hyped storming of government offices yielded nothing—no stolen funds, no wrongdoing—only further proof that Governor Wavinya’s administration is grounded in integrity and service. Unlike her detractors, Wavinya has remained committed to fiscal discipline and has closed the taps that once allowed county resources to be siphoned into private pockets.

Residents of Machakos have now raised the alarm, accusing these rogue MPs of destabilizing governance and sowing chaos for personal gain. Their harassment of Governor Wavinya Ndeti a widow and a woman of resilience is not only misogynistic but an insult to the will of the people who elected her. Under her stewardship, revenue streams previously diverted to private hands such as illicit quarry levies—are now being channeled back into public coffers. The people are watching, and they are ready to defend their governor from any attempt to roll back the gains of clean governance. The Kambaland Times investigative desk has identified some of these greedy and notorious are led by mavoko mp Patrick Makau and machakos town Mp Caleb Mule among other corrupt MPs with main goal to discredit Governor Wavinya Ndeti and damage kalonzo Musyoka’s name.
